Pennant’s commitment to collaboration, innovation, and values-based solutions led us to partner with United Way of Lancaster County to help them redesign their website. We loved learning about all the incredible work happening at United Way, and we knew that our values-based branding approach would work well in the development of their project. Pennant is deeply dedicated to helping organizations like United Way of Lancaster County to amplify their impact and promote their message.

United Way has been a steadfast presence in the Lancaster community for nearly a century. Their unwavering commitment to improvement empowers the Lancaster community to contribute to initiatives that enhance the city for everyone. United Way of Lancaster County actively rallies volunteers for essential community events and projects, and advocates on state and local levels to champion goals related to education, financial stability, health, and community capacity.

United Way of Lancaster’s website was in dire need of a significant overhaul. They sought a fresh brand voice to highlight their impactful work in Lancaster and desired a more organized website for effortless user navigation.

At Pennant, we embarked on a journey to truly understand United Way’s brand, delving into their “Give, Advocate, Volunteer” model by connecting with various organizational leaders. This perspective enabled us to shape a more resolute brand voice and a focused brand strategy for the creation and organization of their new website.

Our team then dove into the website’s redevelopment. This encompassed collecting essential information from United Way and infusing all web content with an authentic and consistent voice and tone. In the quest for impactful visuals, we decided to incorporate custom illustrations of helping hands, a powerful symbol that underscored the organization’s presence and impact in the Lancaster community.

Through meticulous review phases, we refined the site’s design to ensure ease of use, particularly for key users such as community members seeking assistance, grants, volunteer opportunities and fundraising resources.

The project delivered an entirely rejuvenated website boasting a fresh appearance and a unified, authentic voice that runs consistently throughout the site. Site navigation now offers users relevant quick links and is clearly organized to help them swiftly locate the information they need.

For example, the Campaign Toolbox, a heavily utilized section of the website, is readily accessible from the main menu and houses all necessary documents for download. We went a step further and introduced a campaign timeline to ensure a seamless process for all users, regardless of their role.

The new United Way of Lancaster County website has allowed our organization to prepare for the 100th year anniversary coming in 2025. Incorporating a century of history and highlighting the progress United Way has made has been instrumental for our marketing efforts. We wanted to put a huge emphasis on equity and our commitment to a better Lancaster County and I am appreciative of Pennant for communicating that through our website.
