SERVICES:
Web Design & Development

Executive Director, Kevin Ressler and his team approached us with their vision for a website. It became apparent as we learned more about Meals on Wheels of Lancaster that their website should not only reflect who they are and all that they do but also streamline administrative processes.

Scope of Work

Meals on Wheels of Lancaster is a non-profit with a mission: provide nutritious meals delivered to any person in their service area who can’t reasonably provide meals for themselves. As a non-profit, however, they do more than just what their name suggests--they also provide light assistance with housework, assistance with connection to SNAP benefits, and opportunities for ongoing community connection-- just to name a few!

Executive Director, Kevin Ressler and his team approached us with their vision for a website. It became apparent as we learned more about Meals on Wheels of Lancaster that their website should not only reflect who they are and all that they do but also streamline the incoming referrals, volunteer sign ups, and donor relations. In short, we knew that a custom website was the way to go for them. We felt strongly about building a website that is designed not only to organize and effectively showcase the components of their organization but to make sure that their website functions in a way that streamlined some of their administrative processes.

The development work turned out to be very collaborative. We worked with Meals on Wheels staff members to figure out how the website would be organized. For this project, we created two rounds of website maps to ensure that we’d captured everything needed to organize the information. We then focused on the visual aspects of the website.

Custom illustrations and bright professional colors brought out the richness of the mission visually by focusing on their most important asset: people! We also built a customized map that showed the service area and information about the other meals on wheels partnering organizations in the area.

The design aspects were then incorporated with the rich content provided by the Meals on Wheels team. It was important to organize it on the website in a way that was easy to take in. Thus, tables were used to organize aspects of the volunteer needs and donor sections.

We were also able to provide custom integration with donor and forms platform Bloomerang which assisted in providing simple and streamlined ways for persons to volunteer or donate right on the website.

It’s always great to see that the website itself helps an organization do their work better and that we’ve done something to help them streamline their process. What’s more with this specific project is that we were able to capture and organize all that Meals on Wheels of Lancaster does in our community in a way that can be easily identified and easily marketed through the tool of their new website.
