Our work with Philadelphia based blues rock band, JJ Gunn, started when we created their first website in 2014. In the years since, they’ve refined their style and their fanbase flourished. This evolution called for a fresh look. So, they got back to in touch with us, trusting we could get their look to harmonize with their emerging sound.
We sat down with John Martin, JJ Gunn’s manager to discuss the redesign. A lot had changed since their original website launched. We found ourselves factoring in the swell of ecommerce, new trends in multimedia, plus the band’s growth and increased music output.
We narrowed it down to two key elements: the look and the functionality. On one hand, we needed to create a visual reflective of the band’s style. We expanded the range of colors to illustrate their multidimensional blues rock sound. At the same time, we made sure that each part of the site was technically strong. The press page, embedded listening and video functions, news crawler, and merch section have a quick and responsive technical structure to ensure it is a place fans want to be.
We were excited to be a part of this big step for JJ Gunn. Their manager, John was happy to see that the his vision for the band come to full volume. He celebrated the redesign, saying that it “made our site a place I’m proud to send our fans for music, videos, show dates, and merch. We can now have everything in one, convenient place.”
